Numbers weren't always Rebecca's best friend – she received limited financial education growing-up. At 21, she found herself as a single mom and knew she needed to take charge of her finances. So, she dove headfirst, enrolling in accounting classes and landing a job at a local accounting firm as a receptionist. Her talent was undeniable, and she quickly went from her role as receptionist to registered tax preparer with the IRS. 

 

But Rebecca's passion went beyond crunching numbers. She wanted to share the financial knowledge she once lacked. With her associate's degree in hand, she shifted her focus towards teaching financial literacy, volunteering at a local school and teaching students the money management skills she wished she had known.

Today, Rebecca is a dedicated Financial Coach, with a master's degree in personal finances from Iowa State University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland in finances. She is an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®) and a candidate for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) board exam. Because Rebecca is a an AFC®, she is a fiduciary, meaning she looks out for your best interests and will never try to sell you certain products.
